As part of the development of the adjacent property for a residence, the client asked us to design a barn-like structure to provide space and workshop areas for a growing collection of automobiles, motorhomes and off road motorcycles.
 
The design again uses natural materials to integrate the building with the existing site including gabion walls of local stone and a cor-ten wall that provides privacy from the street. A large roof plane “floats” above column free space to maximize flexibility of use and will carry an extensive photovoltaic system, providing electricity for both the house and barn.
