Horst Architects, Inc., established in 1990 by Horst Noppenberger, AIA, is located in the vibrant coastal town of Laguna Beach, California. Over the years, our firm has transformed into a multi-disciplinary group, seamlessly blending technology with cultural and environmental sensitivity in our projects.

Our design philosophy centers around harmonizing client requirements with a dynamic dialogue that embraces the essence of each site. We explore the nuanced facets of human nature by creating spaces that are simultaneously sheltering and expansive, communal and intimate, permanent and ephemeral.

Guided by the foundational ethos of modernism, we adhere to the principle of stripping away the extraneous to achieve a reductive yet powerful aesthetic. This approach yields a poetics of space, characterized by the sculptural interplay of light, material, and form.
